The situation I am in reminded me of a scene in The Pursuit of Happyness when Chris Gardner (played by Will Smith) was asking his old friend/ neighbour for his $18.
I SMSed a few friends for my $ back ranging from $50 to $250 and the fastest reply came from an ex-colleague who explained his situation he’s still finding a job and will pay me his $100 once he received money from his soon-to-be-found job.
Another SMS reply asked me who I was. I have $70 in this guy’s account.
The rest of the people didn’t reply.
Maybe I can seriously buy friends at $50. Some even cried and begged and scripted me scenarios which I can’t help but to help. Lis called me stupid. My Dad advised me many times not to help others when it comes to money. I thought he was selfish. Dada said I am stupid for lending money to people but being my sister I think the blood just flows the same way as she too had others outstanding in payments. Even my mum wouldn’t give a second thought in lending others money even when she herself was in tight situations. Maybe I am stupid. But so is Lis, I would claim, as much as she claimed I am, she too lent money to others who are lost in the valley of borrowers nowhere to be recognised and found.
I might run a generous, sympathetic, thoughtful, others over self, stupid family but we know we can’t put ourselves on the $50 item shelf.
Now, if anyone were to ask from me money, I am sorry. Only when I see you as helpless, I’ll extend my heart to assist whatever I could for free. But that is for me to decide and not for you to ask for me to decide.
Some people just don’t realise that they live in a bigger house, drives a bigger car, drawing a fat pay check (mine is skinny as hell but I just hope some people are aware how talented I am and I deserve more), have dryers and air-conditioning homes, have better home concepts, has bigger tvs, taller fridge, water heaters, come from luxurious family backgrounds and so on. Better than me in many ways but just one thing…
They are worth the dollar that they have forgotten to return.

I pity your plight Mr Quoter… Be assured I will cost you more than just that mere $50. Its that soft spot you’ve got near to the left of your chest that has caused you to be in such a situation. Sometimes you just gotta learn to say No! Stay away from me wallet!
