Anyone noticed?
This is practically the most minimalistic theme I’ve ever had for myself. It’s as good as not having any style sheet at all, agree?
But what do you really think? Should I just stick to this or go get something else with a little bit more fun & graphicky?
To be frank, I am still not decided on the perfect theme to tweak. Initially, I tested a few magazine style themes and found that writing short entries was a hassle and furthermore content for now is still bare. I switched to several others but found that too many others were basing on the nice looking popular themes which I rather not have if the possibilities of sharing a template with 50,000 others on the web.
A few things I gathered that is essential to have for my taste in a theme for this blog.
1) It has to be fast loading. I hate sites which are slow loading. That was one of the reasons why I decided to change my web hosting provider.
2) An archive page is a must have. Especially best if it’s archived in a way one could navigate by year, month, day, most commented, most viewed, by category, by tag, by the most trackbacked.
3) A Sitemap page to be available is a bonus.
4) I prefer a fluid width. Gives me the flexible feeling. Relieves you the hassle of scrolling left to right and left again.
5) SEO friendly with h1, h2 h3 placed strategically.
6) Lesser javascripts but plugin and widget friendly.
7) Homepage that shows 3 column but a single column entry page.
Good commenting experience with avatars and unique author identity for the author’s own comments or comment replies.
9) Not so popular so that when I tweak, it will look fresher than mass production.
10) Easy interface and browser friendly for all major browsers.
11) Adsense friendly.
12) Media streaming friendly.
13) Photo gallery friendly.
I am not asking for too much, am I? I can really go on and list them down but I’ll carry on some other day. Too sleepy to think.
iSleep 1st.
14) Customizable.
15) Safe to use. No popups, no phishing…
16) Free, licensed to use.
17) …… to be added. By you and me when it’s needed.
